Insert your Windows Vista disc and restart your PC, booting from the disc when prompted. Select your language and click Next, then choose Repair your computer. Finally, select Startup Repair and Windows Vista will attempt to fix your problem for you. If this fails, you’ll need to reinstall Windows, but beware: this will wipe all your programs and settings, so proceed with care.
When it all goes wrong - Windows Vista has a few more options for those who've found their computer to be less than co-operative
