Windows Vista Faster than Windows XP, possible????!!!!

By kartik838 on 24 October 2007

Recently I've been searching for Performance of Windows Vista, and i noted that Windows Vista is a nice operating system, but needs lots of hardware Upgrades for nice and smooth performances.

Here is one tweak for you to boost performance of Vista more than Windows XP.

Believe me, Its possible!!!

If you own a Genuine Copy of Windows Vista then this is absolutely nice to do.

Windows Vista Deployment kit is free for download from Microsoft website but it needs more bandwith and knowledge.(About 1Gb)

But there is a software named "Vlite"
This wonderfull freeware allows to remove unneccessary components of the Vista, which in turn increase
 the preformance.

here are few lines about vLite.

vLite is a tool for customizing the Windows Vista installation before actually installing it.

Main features are:

hotfix, language pack and driver integration

component removal

unattended setup

tweaks

split/merge Vista installation CDs

create ISO and burn bootable CD/DVD

Windows Vista from Microsoft takes a lot of resources, we all know that. vLite provides you with an easy removal of the unwanted components in order to make Vista run faster and to your liking.

This tool doesn't use any kind of hacking, all files and registry entries are protected as they would be if you install the unedited version only with the changes you select.

It configures the installation directly before the installation, meaning you'll have to remake the ISO and reinstall it. This method is much cleaner, not to mention easier and more logical than doing it after installation on every reinstall.

Go visit the Vlite site here.

And remove every component you dont use.
My personal opinion is that remove every part that is unneccessary for regular use like performance counters, drivers,Tablet Pc features,Wallpapers, windows sounds,Windows Defender...etc

You can add your Motherboard and other Drivers to your Vista DVD/CD.
Even you can Slipstream any Hotfixes and SPs.

I've slim down the vista DVD for ultimate to One Single Bootable CD.

Believe me, If you remove every unessential component, you will get the vista which is FASTER than Windows XP.

My Pc configuration is

2.66 Ghz Intel
512 RAM
Intel 101GCC motherboard
160 Gb SATA

and I can only say that even with the AERO theme my PC ROCKS.

As for Me Performance matters in long run with Looks.

Regards

Kartik
